I apologise this post has taken longer than it should of but the festivities have got the best of me!
So, if any of you read my first blog post, which was about Vegas, you'll know that was an eventful trip! This time around it was a much calmer affair for all the right reasons! The flight itself was the polar opposite of last time, with over 100 spare seats and just a nice relaxed group of passengers, which made it a super easy day at work. This trip was the longest Vegas I've done, being 4 nights, so this will be quite a long post to pre-warn you!

On route to the buffet! |
Now I love a night out at the best of times, let alone a Vegas night out, but I'm lucky enough to be back here for New Years (which I am buzzing my tatas off about) so I'm saving myself for that. However, as I can't go long without a cheeky beverage I got involved with the crew room party. There were a few mad antics, home-made twister made an appearance & the rest I won't go into but lets say some made for an interesting watch! Some of the others went onto a bar, but since we landed I had been dreaming about a burger and couldn't wait any longer. I ended up in a taxi by myself on a food hunt, to a random food court off the back of the strip,on the taxi drivers recommendation. $30 later me and my burger were together at last & I've got to say it was really good and I think it was from a place called Johnny rockets but I can't say for sure! I didn't think I was that drunk but clearly that road trip decision for food was not made by a sober person!

Room party |
This morning a few of us met up to go to the premium outlets. This was the first time I'd been to the Vegas one's and they are so good. There's loads of big stores like Nike, Micheal Kors, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and so on with massive discounts compared to their usual prices elsewhere. I was only here for Christmas presents, so was extremely controlled and didn't even enter a shop unless it was for a present for someone else, otherwise I'd of ended up buying myself stuff! I will definitely be back here at new years though to treat myself!

Mariah Carey doing her thing |
One thing Vegas is known for is the amazing shows and performers they have on here. Even though I've been here loads I have actually only seen one show before, which was Cirque Du Soleil. This is mainly because I don't ever plan ahead, generally in life & with trips, so when I arrive the tickets on the day are either sold out or very pricey. If you desperately want to see a specific show definitely book in advance, however if you're not so dead set on it having to be a certain show you can leave it till you arrive. Take a walk down the strip and go to the discounted ticket booths to see what deals they have on for that day (there are lots of them and they're easy to spot). On this trip one of my friends had already bought tickets to see Mariah Carey, who has on a special Christmas show at the moment. Now I don't think I'm the only one who would describe myself as a bit of a grinch when it comes to Christmas, but as I had a few of my cabin crew friends going I thought I'd get into the spirit and get involved (we got a good price on our tickets online at vegas.com)The show was in Ceasars palace and it was really good and just had a nice and festive feeling. It was mostly christmas songs, but she did throw in a couple of her classics, there was an amazing gospel choir part as well as some kids singing and dancing too. Oh and if she was singing live then wow that woman has some pipes on her!

Views from Big Bear |
About 2 days before this trip I had emailed the crew to see if anyone would be up for going on a road trip one day skiing & was so happy that a few replied yes. So on our 3rd day, a group of 5 of us woke up about 5am to make the 3 hour drive to Big Bear, which is half way between Los Angeles & Vegas. There is also another resort a similar distance in the opposite direction called Brian Head that you can try from Vegas, we just chose Big Bear as couple of us had been before & we get a good ski hire deal there. One of the boys had hired a people carrier from the airport for about $120 for 3 days with Alamo. At the moment there's only artificial snow, which is unusual for this time of year, but there was enough open for a good day up there for a mixed ability group.

Loving life doing one of my favourite things! |
The last day was a very chilled one. I just wandered around doing a bit of pre-christmas shopping and watched some films. Then got one of the other guys to come with me to this rock art installation. Its called The 7 magic mountains and is apparently only in place for a limited time (but can't find out when till!) If you're here soon and it's still here its definitely worth a visit, but come at sunset/sunrise, when the rock colours really come alive & pictures look great. I'm not sure it would be so captivating during the day.
I've really loved this trip doing the more unusual things that can be done in Vegas. I'll be putting up my christmas trip, in Orlando, day after tomorrow to try catch up with myself!
